Hardware and Software Scanners
TinyTERM Enterprise for iOS supports hardware scanners for scanning barcodes, QR codes, etc. It also includes a software scanner that uses the rear camera on the device. And Scandit is available with an appropriate license
Hardware Scanners
TinyTERM for iOS currently includes support for the following devices:
To use one, first seat the iOS device in the scanner according to the manufacturer's directions. Once connected, you can scan supported codes with the device. Data from the code is entered at the current cursor position in the host application.
In addition to these dedicated scanning devices, TinyTERM also supports all Bluetooth scanners that act as a keyboard wedge. This includes devices that use the Bluetooth HID profile.
Software Scanners
TinyTERM has built-in support for scanning with the rear camera on the device. Supported code formats include EAN/UPC, Code 128, Code 39, and QR.
To activate this, tap the Scan button on the keyboard, select Scan Barcode from the keyboard menu in the title bar, or double-tap the TinyTERM emulator screen with two fingers simultaneously.
This brings up a live camera window with a Cancel button. Center the code in the camera window. The software will recognize the code, then return to TinyTERM and enter the data at the current cursor position.
Scandit support is also available for a large selection of 1D and 2D barcodes. This requires a separate license, which can be purchased from Scandit.
