What's New in the TinyTERM Emulator
Century Software's TinyTERM Emulator, a new Web-to-host access version of its
industry-leading terminal emulation software, is based on a completely new
design and architecture and includes many new features and improvements. The
TinyTERM Emulator supports 32-bit Windows platforms only.
Several new enhancements have been added to the TinyTERM Emulator, including:
- Browser-based host access
- Attribute mapping
- Code page support
- Mouse support
- Multiple font support
- TN3270 and TN5250 emulations
- SSH support
- Multiple-language user interface
All of these new features are part of a superior new architecture that will
allow us to add new and better features.
We have also made it easier to order and fulfill site licenses of Century
products through a change in the way we provide activation keys. Now a single key
is available for any number of seats. Previously, customers wanting 85 users
for example, would receive a key in the following denominations: 5, 10, 20, 50 to
fulfill this quantity. With this new improvement, one serial number and
activation key would be provided to a customer ordering 85 users.
In addition to the Century Desktop CD for Windows, our products will also be
available for distribution on the Web. A 30-day evaluation copy of the TinyTERM
Emulator is available. Those who evaluate the TinyTERM emulator and decide to
purchase an activation key will be directed to our channel partners. Century
products are still available for download from our FTP server.
Here are some of the new features available in this Help file:
- There is an entirely new User Interface, providing a more standardized Windows
look and feel to the TinyTERM Emulator.
- The Menu Bar has been restructured. For details, choose What's on the Menu Bar.
- The Ribbon Bar has been restructured, and you can choose whether to display eight large
icons with captions or twelve small icons without captions.
- The Status Bar contains more information, and is easier to interpret.
- The Session Bar provides easy switching between emulator sessions.
- The new TinyTERM Emulator Help files now encompass the information that used
to be found in the Adobe Acrobat .PDF files as well as that from the old Help.
The documents have been converted into the most current version of Windows Help,
and Web-based HTML files are available which contain the same information.
- This conversion allows you to find the specific information you need more
easily, using the powerful search and indexing capabilities of today's Help
technology. Printable files are available, also. This is an ongoing project that will
eventually provide you will all the Century product information in the easiest
possible format. Before long, updates to Help documentation will be available
through the web site as well.
