TinyTERM ITX 3270 for iPad has a completely customizable keyboard, with several
included layouts. In addition, the keyboard can be made transparent, or hidden
entirely for a full-screen view of the emulation.
Here are a few examples. Click on any image for a full-size view.
With the full keyboard displayed, the screen can be
scrolled with a single finger swipe. (This particular keyboard is based on
an IBM 3278 hardware terminal.) |
Turning the keyboard
transparent causes the emulator to fill the full screen beneath the keys.
The amount of transparency is fully user-controllable, from completely
solid to invisible. (This keyboard layout is more like that of a desktop
PC.) |
|
|
Hold the keyboard button or tap the
keyboard hide key to remove the keyboard completely, displaying the full terminal screen. |
In addition to the standard alphanumeric
keys, TinyTERM includes all PF and special keys. Access this by tapping the
Fn key on the main keyboard. Tap ABC to return. |
|
|
For those who prefer the default iPad
keyboard, TinyTERM adds a secondary keyboard with PF and other function keys.
And like the other custom keyboards, these layouts are fully programmable. |
With the custom keyboard
layouts, more screen space is available for the emulation itself. |
With the keyboard
hidden, the emulation stretches to fit the full screen. |
|
|
|
In landscape mode,
pinch-zoom can shrink the emulation screen to the available windows space
as shown here, or expand to display a detailed portion of the screen. |
Customizability isn't limited to the
keyboard. Connection details, emulation mode, automated login, colors and
more can be tailored to fit each individual connection. |
