What's New in Version 2.0.0

  • Added licensing support
  • Update the location the license is stored under for WIN32 platforms
  • Added proxy service for iOS client

Browser-Based Terminal Emulation

Effectively eliminate dropped sessions with our user-friendly and secure server-based solution, TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server. Easily pick up where you left off after losing a connection, without having to login again, navigate through screens, and re-enter lost data.

TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server maintains the connection to the remote host that you login to and run programs, as well as keeping track of the session data associated with each connection, such as what screen you are on, and what data has been entered into various fields. The actual server connection and emulation are done on the TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server server, and sent to TinyTERM Enterprise for iOS or the client browser.

The TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server server is set up in your environment so that you have control over any sensitive information that resides on it, without being required to share private data with any third party, including Century Software. Because the server can be set up in a more secure and permanent place, in certain environments this connection is much more reliable than a connection made directly from a mobile device.

This is especially true in environments such as warehouses, where WiFi connectivity can be intermittent and may drop out in certain locations. It's also useful over mobile connections that may lose contact temporarily with cell towers.

It’s all seamless from the end-user’s perspective. Lost connections are automatically restored without requiring user interaction.

Session Persistence

TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server maintains the connection to the remote host that you login to and run programs, as well as keeping track of the session data associated with each connection, such as what screen you are on, and what data has been entered into various fields. The actual server connection and emulation are done on the Proxy Server, and sent to TinyTERM Enterprise for iOS or the browser.

This is especially true in environments such as warehouses, where WiFi connectivity can be intermittent and may drop out in certain locations. It's also useful over mobile connections that may lose contact temporarily with cell towers.

TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server runs as background or command prompt.

License Proxy

TinyTERM Enterprise TE Server can be used as a proxy for the Century Software License Server (LCS service). Using the license proxy can allow for more detailed tracking of clients by optionally forwarding the private IP addresses of devices behind a firewall.

The proxy may also be used as a means to provide access to the license server in environments where the ability to make outgoing connections is limited, as long as the server is hosted on a machine that can make outgoing connections to Century's license server; e.g., a machine in front of a corporate firewall.

In larger corporations, this allows tracking of the internal IP address from each location instead of the gateway IP for the corporation.
