When using TinyTERM Thin Client or TinyTERM Plus in a Windows terminal server environment, the local client printers are automatically recognized by the terminal server. They can be used by any Windows application installed on the server.
TinyTERM Plus and TinyTERM Thin Client can use these RDP printers as standard Windows printers; however, they can’t be saved. Every time you start TinyTERM, you must select the RDP printer again.

Start TinyTERM 4.40, then go immediately to the File menu and select Page Setup. An error message comes up: “Error (4514) Bad argument to function: expected number, got undefined.”
Go to the File menu and select Printer Setup instead. Click the Setup button there for the Windows printer. You get the correct Page Setup dialog. But after that, going to File | Page Setup does nothing.

Configure a second or third printer in TinyTERM. Enable spooling, with release either on key press or timeout with a non-zero value. It doesn’t matter what the timeout value is, or whether or not you hit a key. A transparent print job does not actually print until you turn spooling off, then send another print job. That pushes the existing job out of the queue. Closing TinyTERM causes any currently spooling print jobs to be lost.

Configure a .tpx file to print to the Windows printer, with Bypass Printer Drivers checked. Open the .tpx file in Internet Explorer. Transparent print jobs come to the screen. A print job shows as spooling in Windows until the emulator is closed. Then the job disappears.

The first transparent print job works correctly. The second and subsequent jobs give the error, “Print already in process.” Other Windows applications can use the printer successfully. Restarting TinyTERM allows one transparent print job, then the error comes back. This has not been duplicated.
One report suggests that deleting the .tpx file, then recreating it from scratch gets rid of the error. This has not been duplicated either.

Right-click the “hammer-and-wrench icon” in the System tray. The Century LPD Server window should open.
Century Software, Inc., has had a report of this failing on Windows XP. Single-, double- and right-clicking the icon all fail. Running CenLPDstatus.exe again just produces a new icon. A thorough uninstall followed by a reinstall didn’t help. This has not been duplicated.

Century Software, Inc., has had a report from a customer using TinyTERM Plus for DOS. The PC has an HP 1100 on LPT1: set up as an LPD printer. Printing from both SCO and Linux systems, each print job produces three copies. Printing from DOS applications does not do this, nor does printing to locally attached printers on the hosts.
The PC uses a 3C509 network card on IRQ 7 with a packet driver. Changing the network IRQ doesn’t affect the problem.
CR 612, not duplicated

When multiple print jobs are sent to the Century LPD server in rapid succession, some are lost. The print data is never seen by the PC, and some of the jobs are never printed.
