When this happens, you’ll need to create the install diskettes again. When creating the floppies, boot to DOS to run 35floppy.bat. If you create the floppies in a Windows MS-DOS Prompt, you will get an valid install disks.

When trying to create floppies using the 35floppy.bat file TinyTERM 3.3, you may see the above error. It usually means your hard drive is full or nearly so, with not enough workings space available to create the floppies.
Check the hard drive to see how much space is available. Free up as much as you can. If there is still insufficient space, you’ll need to use another PC to create the floppies.

Using TinyTERM 3.3 and the ZMODEM file transfer protocol, you may find a situation where you can download a file from the host to the PC, but not upload from the PC to the host. When that happens, do the following in TinyTERM:
- Click on the Transfer button.
- Enter the required information.
- Select ZMODEM as the transfer protocol, if it’s not already set.
- Click the Settings button.
- Place a check in the box next to Automatic Data Compression.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Set the ZMODEM/WTERMCRC Packet Size to 4096 or 8192.
- Set the ZMODEM/WTERMCRC Window Size to match the packet size.
- Click OK twice.
You should now be able to transfer files both directions.
If the PC is using the NTFS file system, the above instructions may not work when downloading files. It’s not just TinyTERM that’s affected by this. ZMODEM does not always write well to NTFS drives, regardless of the application you’re using.

When this happens, it means the original install did not complete properly. You will need to do the following:
- Manually uninstall all Tiny Term products.
- Reboot the PC.
- Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get the task manager. End all tasks except Systray and Explorer.
- Install TinyTERM again.
- When prompted to restart the computer, select No.
- Click Yes and OK on all other dialog boxes. Some dialog boxes may be behind others, so make sure to close these windows carefully.

When using TinyTERM 3.3 on Windows 95 or higher, files may be lost after saving them. This can include scripts, .tap connection files, or files downloaded from a remote system.
The problem is long directory name support in TinyTERM 3.3. By default it installs to a subdirectory of C:\Program Files, but it doesn’t fully recognize the space in the path name. So when it tries to save, it uses any spaces in the path as file name separators. This causes files to be written to incorrect directories, or even to be renamed.
The solution is to uninstall TinyTERM, then reboot the PC and reinstall. On reinstall, change the directory path to a classic 8.3 name, such as C:\Century.

After installing TinyTERM Plus or TERM Professional version 3.3 from the October 1998 CD, you may not see an option for the FTP Client, LPR Printing or NFS Server, though they should be installed. (NFS is only installed with TERM Professional.)
To resolve this, manually uninstall the current product and reboot. Next, install TERM Professional using the 30-day evaluation. Make sure that the correct components are check-marked.
We also suggest you change the TinyTERM install path. It defaults to C:\Program Files\Century. Change the path to C:\Century (delete Program Files).
Once installation is complete, run the License Manager and upgrade your license. You should now have FTP Client, LPR Printing and NFS Server.

Using Tiny Term version 3.3 on Windows 98, the printer might lock up after printing three or four pages of a report. Once it locks up, you’ll have to end task TinyTERM to clear it.
To fix this, go to TinyTERM’s printer settings and check the box marked “Flush output buffer.” This will flush the printer buffer periodically, preventing the printer from locking up.

Using TinyTERM versions prior to 4.0, if you try to download a file from the host to a directory path with a space in the name; e.g., C:\Program Files\Century\TinyTERM, the transfer will fail. This happens because of the space in the path. Putting the path in quotation marks will not help.
Instead, use the DOS 8.3-style name associated with the path. In the example above, that would be C:\Progra~1\Century\TinyTERM. Or download to a path with no spaces, then move the file when the download completes.

The TinyTERM install program may ask for the drive the PC boots from, and will default to C:\. If you click OK, it will ask again, this time specifying C:\CONFIG.SYS. Every time you click OK, another CONFIG.SYS is added to the directory path.
When this happens, it means there is no CONFIG.SYS file on C:. TinyTERM does not do anything with the file, but the install will not proceed if it’s not there.
To bypass this, cancel the TinyTERM install. In the root of the C: drive, create an empty CONFIG.SYS file. Then start the TinyTERM install again. It will proceed normally.

The Century FTP Client included in TinyTERM Plus versions prior to 4.40 can only copy one directory at a time. However, the SecureFT application included in TinyTERM Plus versions 4.40 and higher can copy multiple directories in a single operation.
