If Force Num Lock On is set in TinyTERM, some laptop keyboards will behave erratically. Other laptops ignore the setting. Typing on those works normally.
The problem stems from the dual nature of the typical laptop number pad. It tends to be a secondary function of the main keyboard, rather than a keypad of its own. With the laptop’s Num Lock off but the TinyTERM setting on, the function of any of the dual keys is not always predictable.

Century Software, Inc., has had a request for keyboard-interactive authentication for SSH. This would allow standard login and password prompts over an SSH connection. It has not been implemented thus far.

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to add the capability to view scanned TIFF and FAX documents in the TinyTERM window. This is possible at the console for many UNIX systems. However, it would require a major rewrite of the graphics code in TinyTERM.

The TN3232.exe program does not have a user interface option for connecting to a host. It must be connected through HLLAPI commands instead.

Go to the C:\Program Files\Century\TinyTERM\HLLAPI direcotry and run TN3232.exe. It comes up, but the tool bar isn’t drawn completely. Minimize and restore the application, or bring it behind another application temporarily, and the tool bar draws correctly.

When a data capture file grows to over 1 Mb, though some reports say it can get as large as 9 Mb, TinyTERM stops capturing and apparently freezes. This may be accompanied by a “stack overflow” error.

Century Software, Inc., has had a report that extra characters are displayed in TinyTERM which aren’t part of the application screen. An included data capture exhibits the problem quite readily. Curiously, the extra characters aren’t in the capture file itself.

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to copy the text attributes with the text itself. That would preserve colors, bold text, etc.
The specific example cited was PowerPoint. With this feature added, screens could be inserted with exact display attributes, but the text itself could be edited.

When you map a key to a string in TinyTERM, then come back to look at it later, it shows in the Value field as a series of numbers in angle brackets. For example, the word “key” displays as:
<619><613><633>
The Value Viewer line always shows the exact text. But that line has an absolute limit to how much it can display. It can’t be scrolled like the Value field can.
