Instantaneous Disconnect

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

In TinyTERM versions prior to 4.21, if there is a Winsock problem, you have to wait for TinyTERM to time out before you can do anything. TinyTERM 4.21 allows for an instant disconnect, regardless of the state of Winsock.

Reverse Attribute Ignored in Some Cases

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Using any terminal emulation, TinyTERM 4.00-4.13 will not always display reverse text properly. Instead, it displays as normal text. If Ignore host color sequences is checked on the Attributes tab of Session Properties, reverse works properly. This was fixed in TinyTERM 4.20.

Back Tab Fails in TN5250

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

The Back Tab option in the keyboard mapper for TN5250 does nothing. When that is mapped to a key, it’s as if the key were mapped to nothing. There is no patch for this.

CR 114, fixed in TinyTERM Plus 4.40.

User Interface Languages

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

TinyTERM 3.x and TERM 7.x for Windows allow the user to select a language during install. The install then copies the appropriate resource files for that language only. It applies to all TinyTERM or TERM menus and dialog boxes. Available languages include English, French, Spanish and Hungarian.

TinyTERM 4.00-4.05 only have an English-language menu system. French and German were added in TinyTERM 4.10. More languages were added in TinyTERM 4.31: Italian, Spanish, Polish and Portuguese. They can be changed on the fly from the View menu. Again, these languages apply to the menus and dialog boxes in TinyTERM.

The language within the emulator window is handled through code pages. The host system and TinyTERM must be using the same code pages, or the display will be incorrect.
