If the install stops, or if it causes the PC to hang on reboot, there are a few steps to try. Do the following one at a time, testing the install after each.
- Close all background tasks, especially virus and spyware scanners. Other Internet-enabled software should be closed as well.
- Run Scandisk to clean up any disk errors.
- Empty the Recycle Bin to free disk space. Delete all temporary files as well.
- Defragment the hard drive. This one should be saved for last, as it will take some time.
If none of these work, locate the zipse directory on the TinyTERM CD. Copy the file ttpl.exe from that directory to your hard drive. Then boot the PC in safe mode and install from that copied file.
If you need the Network Utilities, also copy netutils.exe from the same directory. Run it immediately after the ttpl.exe program finishes.
