Configure a Century LPD printer on Windows XP. Send a print job to it. The job filesĀ are created and stored in the specified spool directory on the PC. But they stay there, never actually going to the printer. This only happens on Windows XP, though not in every case.

When using Excel to access TinyTERM data via DDE, it returns an error window:
Remote data not accessible.
To access this data Excel needs to start another application. Some legitimate applications on your computer could be used maliciously to spread viruses or damage your computer. Only click Yes if you trust the source of this workbook and you want to let the workbook start the application.
Start application ‘tt.exe’?
TinyTERM shows no attempted access when this happens. Excel shows no other errors.
Extensive testing shows that Microsoft Excel won’t communicate with most DDE servers. The only reliable DDE connections were made with other Microsoft Office applications.

Century Software, Inc., has received a request to force the graphical FTP client to use only upper or lower case file names when transferring. This would include both options, or it could be disabled entirely.

The CScript command GetPath() always returns the file name its given, rather than the path to the file as documented. The sType argument does not affect this.

Century Software, Inc., has had requests for two enhancements to the TinyTERM uninstall:
- Combine TinyTERM and NetUtils into a single entry in Add/Remove Programs. This is problematic, as TinyTERM, TinyTERM Plus, TinyTERM Web Server and TinyTERM Web Server Client all share a single install. NetUtils is a separate install process spawned when TinyTERM Plus is selected.
- Create an uninstall shortcut on the Windows Start menu.

Configure TinyTERM for a block cursor and Wyse60 emulation. Connect and have the host send \033`0 to make the cursor disappear. Then have it send \033`1 to make it reappear. The cursor is now blinking.

The SSL/TLS connection type was added for TN3270 and TN5250 emulations in TinyTERM Plus 4.41. RSA key authentication was added to that in TinyTERM Plus 4.42.
Century Software, Inc., has had a request to make SSL connectivity available for all terminal emulations. This has not been implemented thus far.

Configure TinyTERM Plus for TN5250 emulation. If you click the Setup button immediately, you get the TN5250 options. Clicking Setup a second time displays TN3270 options. If you save the session after this, the emulation is on TN3270 the next time you open TinyTERM.
This is not a consistent behavior. Sometimes the TN5250 setup options display every time, and saving doesn’t cause any changes. Setting TN5250 for IBM3477-FC (27×132) mode will reliably cause this problem.

Configure an LPD printer in Windows, and set up a UNIX printer for it. Turn off the PC, then send several print jobs from UNIX to the LPD printer. Turn the PC back on. Only the last job sent is printed.
