When installing the network utilities (NetUtils) to Windows 98se or Windows Me, you get the error, “ATL.DLL missing, must install TinyTERM Plus.” It comes up immediately after the progress bar for starting the NetUtils setup hits 100%. Installing TinyTERM Plus in safe mode bypasses the problem in some cases.

When you try to copy files to an NFS drive mapped to an AIX share, you get the error, “Access denied: disk is full or write protected.” The same thing happens saving new files from a Windows application, or editing existing files on the share.

When the TVI950 emulation receives the sequence \033Y, it’s supposed to clear the screen to the end of page, regardless of protected status of fields on screen. In TinyTERM it only clears the non-protected areas.

When using telnet to connect to an IBM mainframe running VSC or VSE, TinyTERM’s TN3270 emulation connects, then immediately disconnects with no errors. The mainframe log shows a variant on one of the following errors, depending on which version of TCP/IP is installed:
TEL911E TN3270 negotiation error type askterm.
TEL967E Negotiation error: Expected FFFB18 received null.
TinyTERM on the same PC has no problems connecting to a mainframe running VM.

When uninstalling TinyTERM Plus, you must also remove the “NetUtils” item in Add/Remove Programs to finish the uninstall. This removes the file msvbmvm60.dll from the PC as well.
If the file isn’t present when NetUtils (the network utilities part of TinyTERM Plus) is installed, NetUtils installs it. However, whether or not the file was present before, the uninstall removes it. This happens even if other installed programs rely on the file.

This happens because the .tpx extension used by TinyTERM isn’t registered on install. To fix this, click the Open With button on the error dialog. If asked, choose Select the program from a list next.
You’ll get an Open With dialog. In that dialog, select either tt.exe or CSL Run Engine ActiveX Doc Object Server, whichever is displayed. You may need to choose the Browse option to find it.
Finally, check the box marked Always use the selected program to open this kind of file, then click OK. From then on, double-clicking a .tpx file will open TinyTERM.

The TN3270 and TN5250 emulations allow you to choose between block and underline cursors, with the option for the cursor to blink or not, just like other emulations in TinyTERM Plus. However, the cursor always blinks, regardless of which option is selected.
