The TN3232.exe program does not have a user interface option for connecting to a host. It must be connected through HLLAPI commands instead.

Go to the C:\Program Files\Century\TinyTERM\HLLAPI direcotry and run TN3232.exe. It comes up, but the tool bar isn’t drawn completely. Minimize and restore the application, or bring it behind another application temporarily, and the tool bar draws correctly.

When using TinyTERM Thin Client or TinyTERM Plus in a Windows terminal server environment, the local client printers are automatically recognized by the terminal server. They can be used by any Windows application installed on the server.
TinyTERM Plus and TinyTERM Thin Client can use these RDP printers as standard Windows printers; however, they can’t be saved. Every time you start TinyTERM, you must select the RDP printer again.

When a data capture file grows to over 1 Mb, though some reports say it can get as large as 9 Mb, TinyTERM stops capturing and apparently freezes. This may be accompanied by a “stack overflow” error.

Using the FTP protocol in SecureFT, you get the above error when uploading a .zip file over about 5 Mb in size. Other file extensions of the same size or larger transfer without problems. Downloading doesn’t generate any errors, either.

DDE Failures

Configure TinyTERM as a DDE server. From another application, initialize a DDE channel to either the Terminal or Script topic. Use DDE Execute to run an XMIT command; e.g.,
XMIT “TEXT”
Nothing happens in TinyTERM. The same thing is true if you use the DDE POKE command to the Terminal topic.
If you use the TSL DISPLAY command to either Terminal or Script:
DISPLAY TEST
The word “TEST” is displayed, rather than the contents of the variable it should be associated with.
Also, a DDE request for a screen area XnnnYnnnWnnnHnnn; e.g., X001Y001W008H002
returns the string “TERMINAL” rather than the text in the defined area.

Century Software, Inc., has had a report that extra characters are displayed in TinyTERM which aren’t part of the application screen. An included data capture exhibits the problem quite readily. Curiously, the extra characters aren’t in the capture file itself.

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to copy the text attributes with the text itself. That would preserve colors, bold text, etc.
The specific example cited was PowerPoint. With this feature added, screens could be inserted with exact display attributes, but the text itself could be edited.

Start TinyTERM 4.40, then go immediately to the File menu and select Page Setup. An error message comes up: “Error (4514) Bad argument to function: expected number, got undefined.”
Go to the File menu and select Printer Setup instead. Click the Setup button there for the Windows printer. You get the correct Page Setup dialog. But after that, going to File | Page Setup does nothing.
CR 658, fixed in TinyTERM 4.41
