TERM for SCO UNIX cannot disable tty ports numbered higher than ttyA9. It can use the ports if they are already disabled, but it can’t disable them on its own.

Some terminals allow the user to accept input or send output to an auxiliary device, or AUX port. This functionality was added in TinyTERM 4.52.
To access the AUX port, open the Session Properties. Next to the Emulation line, click the Setup button. The AUX Port settings are in the lower right.

At the SCO UNIX console, the sequence \033[0m resets the text attributes. It removes all bold, reverse, blink, etc., characteristics, and restores the colors to their defined defaults, normally white text on a black background.
When TinyTERM is configured for SCOANSI emulation, \033[0m restores all text attributes to normal except color. If the colors have been changed, they stay changed.
The documentation is a little ambiguous. It reads in part:
Disable all attribute modifiers (bold, underline, italic, reverse video, concealed and blinking). In the default mode, set the font back to font 0. In backwards compatibility mode, only set the font if the SGR0 control option is set . . .
There is no mention of color at all. So whether or not TinyTERM is acting correctly is not strictly defined.

TERM and TinyTERM have a wide variety of available terminal emulations. Of course, there are more terminal types out there. Occasionally Century Software, Inc., gets a request for a terminal that’s not currently included.
The following list of Change Requests shows which terminals have been requested. The notes indicate which have been added.
CR 538 – AT&T 4410 (keyboard added in TinyTERM for iPad 1.2.2 for use with VT220 emulation)
CR 540 – ADDS Viewpoint VP/50 and VP/60 (ADDS Viewpoint VP/60 included in TinyTERM Pro for iOS)
CR 558 – Linux console in TERM for UNIX
CR 601 – VT420 (added in TinyTERM for 4.40)
CR 644 – MAI 4313 and MAI 4314
CR 959 – Wyse 370
CR 1048 – ADDS A2 Enhanced
CR 1060 – Alpha Micro AM62
CR 1068 – Esprit III / WYCOL

This was reported using TinyTERM 4.20 to run an Informix 4GL application. It displays improperly in some spots. It’s always the same spots in the application, and can be traced to the screen position code \033[4;2H losing the leading escape character. Refreshing the Informix application fixes the problem, but it happens consistently in some screens. Other emulators do not exhibit the problem.

Configure TinyTERM for Wyse60 emulation, then connect to a Linux system. Once logged in, switch to page 1 from page 0. An easy way to do this is to run vi, then exit it.
The TinyTERM screen displays in the wrong colors. Anything you type is correct, though. Clearing the screen sets the colors correctly and maintains them from then on.

AES Encryption
April 27th, 2007
Century Software, Inc., has had a request to add AES (advanced encryption standard) 64-, 128-, 192- and 256-bit encryption to TinyTERM Plus. This was implemented in TinyTERM version 4.65.4985, available August 2011.

The Telnet terminal type setting in TinyTERM allows you to change the terminal type that the host sees announced in telnet connections. It also applies to SSH connections. In older versions of TinyTERM for Windows, it’s called the netterm setting.
Unlike TinyTERM, TERM for UNIX/Linux does not have a Telnet terminal type or netterm option. Century Software, Inc., has had a request to add this feature.

If you select a 25-line emulation in TERM, such as SCOANSI or Wyse60-25, but there are not 25 lines available on screen, TERM falls back to VT100 emulation. There’s no warning when this happens. TERM just starts behaving differently than expected.

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to make TinyTERM work like any other web page when printing. Specifically, typing ^P should print everything from the beginning of the session to the current screen, rather than just the current screen.
