TERM for UNIX Documentation
April 26th, 2007

The TERM for UNIX manual does not describe how to use the TERM CD. It’s also out of date on supported UNIX flavors, and does not mention Linux, or the demo versions available for SCO UNIX and Linux.

The May 2007 release of the TERM for UNIX CD includes a PDF copy of the TERM for UNIX/Linux manual. It also includes a Quick Start Guide, similar to that available for TinyTERM. The hardcopy manual will no longer be available.

CR 333

tsi_retval() Always Returns 0 from tsl_wait()
April 26th, 2007

When used in conjunction with the tsl_wait() compatibility command, tsi_retval() always returns 0. tsl_wait does have the same position-dependent return value capabilities that te.wait() does, but tsi_retval() ignores them.

CR 330

Universal Script Timeout
April 26th, 2007

Century Software, Inc., has had a request for a universal timeout capability for script commands. This would theoretically time out any script command that was failing and continue script execution past that point. This has not been implemented thus far.

CR 328

Saving Printer Settings in TinyTERM Web Server Client
April 26th, 2007

Century Software, Inc., has had a request to allow users to save their individual printer settings when using the TinyTERM Web Server Client. Printer settings are currently saved in the .tpx file, which is only available from the web server when using TinyTERM Web Server Client. Implementing this would require a substantial rewrite of the printer management code.

Nevertheless, this would be a useful function, as client users are not likely to have identical printer settings.

CR 321

Can’t Use Modem on Compaq Presario
April 26th, 2007

“TAPI error: Line not available to place a call” comes up whenever TinyTERM tries to dial using the modem included in a Compaq Presario 4660 running Windows 98. Other applications can use the modem normally. Updating the modem drivers does not help.

This appears to be a modem-specific incompatibility. The workaround is to dial the modem manually.

CR 320

RFC 2217 Telnet Com Port Control Option
April 26th, 2007

Century Software, Inc., has received a request to implement RFC 2217 – Telnet Com Port Control Option in TinyTERM. That has not been implemented thus far.

CR 310

Invalid Page Fault in CenTE.ocx
April 26th, 2007

With Login at connect configured, TinyTERM will sometimes generate the error, “tt caused an invalid page fault in module CenTE.OCX and will be terminated.” This has not been duplicated by Century Software, Inc.

It has been reported that removing the “^M” string from the 1st send: line on the Login tab of Session Properties gets rid of the error. Checking the Show output during login option on that tab has also reportedly fixed the error.

CR 308

Cannot Find Lexmark Printer
April 26th, 2007

When printing to a Lexmark color inkjet on a USB port, TinyTERM returns the error, “Cannot find printer.” Other Windows applications print without a problem. This has been reported for both the Lexmark Z23  and the Lexmark Z35.

CR 306

brand Causes Segmentation Fault on UnixWare 7.1.1
April 26th, 2007

The TERM for UnixWare install fails with a segmentation fault on UnixWare 7.1.1. This is caused by the brand program that licenses TERM. The fault prevents /usr/bin/term from being serialized, making it unusable.

CR 300

Keyboard Locks at Login Prompt
April 26th, 2007

Configure TinyTERM Thin Client on Windows 2000 with Citrix Metaframe XP as a published application. Also configure it to establish connection on open. Occasionally TinyTERM will not accept keyboard input at the login prompt. Clicking Disconnect, then Connect fixes the problem. The problem can also be duplicated by disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly.
