Non-Java Secure Web Host Access
TinyTERM AX for Web is browser-based host access with no client installation.
TinyTERM AX for Web provides low-cost, centrally administrated, highly
secure terminal emulation host access from Microsoft's Internet Explorer
browser. Installed easily on any web server, including Microsoft, Apache,
Linux, UNIX and others, TinyTERM AX for Web is configured from a server web
page and downloads automatically on a PC when clicked on by internal or external
users. No expensive-to-maintain Java subsystems are required, as TinyTERM AX
uses Microsoft's ActiveX technology, which is supported on all Windows XP,
Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 platforms.
Many Fortune 2000 companies are currently looking at options
to replace their expensive java-based web access programs because of the
cost of maintaining the unsecure, update-intensive subsystems of their java
based programs, not to mention the expense of the program itself. Century is answering that need with an Active X
solution.
Using TinyTERM AX for Web is as easy as:
1. Modify TinyTERM AX base html file
2. Test connectivity
3. Deploy tested html file to web server
4. Provide
users the link (URL)
At this point the user clicks on provided link and has full secured access to the host
systems from a browser!
No Installation
Initial one-time cab file download, then user can access instantaneously.
Pre-configured html file allows:
- Automatically connect to host system when launched
- Secure connectivity
- Non-modifiable configuration file
When the HTML file is placed on the company web server, the
standard html code on the specific web page can be modified to include any instructions or additional information
a user might
need to access/use host system.
Reduced cost of ownership:
Major reduction in support man-hours for host access:
- No java subsystems to update and maintain
- Less time supporting users (locked down configuration
can't be modified)
- Direct secure access for vendors and external users
- No VPN requirements for external access
- Reduced deployment time
- Click and go (automatically connect to host systems)
direct secure access
- Reduced cost per user - higher ROI
Direct Access for Vendors
Vendors can now have secured internal access to host systems for such things as order entry, order process and
tracking, inventory management, problem reporting, etc. without requiring them to purchase any additional
software. Simply provide them a link to your website that is created with a unique html file that allows secure restricted access.
Security
TinyTERM AX for Web uses SSH or SSL/TLS for secure connectivity. Based on industry-standard
strong encryption, SSH and SSL/TLS allow users to access remote hosts securely over an internal
network, VPN, or the internet.
In addition, TinyTERM AX for Web provides a locked-down user interface, so users cannot alter
settings, increasing security.
Superior terminal emulation:
TinyTERM AX for Web provides secure wireless access to remote systems with
exact terminal emulation. Internet Explorer users can rely on TinyTERM for
22 terminal types, including IBM TN3270 and TN5250, Linux console, Wyse
50/60, DEC VT100/VT220/VT320, and SCOANSI.

Requirements:
Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows
7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008
Internet Explorer: Versions 7, 8, 9, and 10 in
either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Licensing:
TinyTERM AX for Web is licensed per user and based on the
sum of all users allowed access to host systems.
For example, if there are 100 employees (75 internal and
25 external) and 50 external vendors that require access to the host
systems, 150 licenses would need to be purchased.
Multiple html files can be created for all users, allowing
them access to multiple host systems. If the server address is hard-coded
into the html file, each server will require a separate html file.
One user could have links to multiple html files dependent on access
requirements. In this scenario that one user with multiple links to
various host systems in one license.

Tech Tip: TinyTERM Closes after Adding the Activation Key
Question: I've entered my activation key, but clicking the "Add Key" button just closes the dialog. And when I start TinyTERM again, it asks for the license again.
Answer: This has one of two causes:
1. An older version of TinyTERM was installed on the PC, but not properly uninstalled. To fix this, uninstall TinyTERM through the Windows Control Panel. After the uninstall completes, go to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the Century folder. Restart Windows after this, then reinstall TinyTERM.
2. The wrong version of TinyTERM is installed for the license. To fix this, install the correct version of TinyTERM. To get that version, login to your account. A list of your registered licenses will be displayed. Click the download button next to the license to get the matching TinyTERM install file.
If you do not have a login, please contact Technical Support for assistance. Please include your activation key in your email.
